How pickup works
When you donate your RV or motorhome, we coordinate a specialized pickup that suits your needs. Depending on the size and type of your vehicle, we use either an RV-transport flatbed or a drive-away service to ensure your RV is safely transported. For larger models, it’s essential to ensure the vehicle adheres to state height restrictions, as most states require a maximum clearance of 13’6”. If you’re not on-site during the pickup, we’ll coordinate closely with your RV park or storage facility to facilitate a smooth handover.
What drives donation value
The value of your RV or motorhome donation greatly depends on its condition, especially the house systems, including the roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning. These elements play a more significant role in determining its worth than the drivetrain. Be cautious of water damage, as this can substantially decrease your vehicle’s value. Having recent maintenance records can also bolster its appraisal, particularly during peak donation seasons like spring when auctions are more favorable. For classic RVs, you may need an appraisal to complete IRS Form 8283 Section B, which can help validate the donation value.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title
- Service records
- IRS Form 8283 for appraisals (if applicable)
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for off-road vehicles
- Bill of Sale (if required in South Carolina)
Greenville specifics
In South Carolina, RVs and motorhomes are treated like other vehicles regarding title and registration. It’s essential to have a clear title when donating, or else you may need to complete a bill of sale. The DMV requires specific documentation for the transfer, so make sure you have all necessary paperwork ready to streamline the donation process.
